Tales of Tofield TwoThe Tofield Historical Society will publish a sequel to Tales of Tofield (©1969), which has recently been reprinted.* Our goal is publication to coincide with Tofield's Centenary in 2009. July 2009 Update to ProjectThe Book Launch on July 1, 2009 was a huge success! Hundreds of residents and visitors lined up to collect their prepaid copies, and many more purchased theirs on the spot, or over the next few days of Centennial Celebrations. Copies are still available for purchase at the Museum, the Library, and both drugstores, in two formats. Harcover copies are $75 and perfect-bound (quality paperback) are $60. Both have the same eye-catching beautiful cover art. The book is 488 pages long including an extensive index and many color photographs. See details below for mail order. The editorial committee wishes to extend their appreciation to all those who submitted material for this book, and all those who assisted in any way in its production and publication. Details are in the introductory section of the book itself. Order by mail from:

January 2009 Update to ProjectAll stories, articles, and pictures have been turned over to the printer's book designer. With great appreciation to the hundreds of contributors, no further submissions can be accepted. Contact Barbara (780-662-4276), Diane (780-662-2624), or Liz (780-662-2767) April 2008 Update to ProjectThe editing committee is nearing the end of the initial story-preparation process, working on nearly 500 submissions. We are now working with a printer and graphic designer to prepare the book layout and move into the production process. At this time, if you did not submit photographs with your story, we would be glad to accept them. Hard copy items will be handled carefully and returned, so be sure to include your full contact information. Digital copies may be emailed to the address below. Photo subjects may include not only people (e.g. family groups) but places as well -- homes, farms, businesses, etc. The editors reserve the right to the final selection of photos to include. November 2007 Update to ProjectThe editing committee has received over 400 submissions for publication. Editing and proofing continues, and the marketing and sales committe is gearing up. The absolute, final, we-can't-possibly-accept-more deadline is Dec. 31, 2007. April 2007 Update to ProjectThe book committe has been delighted with the response so far! Nearly 300 family, church, business and organization articles have been submitted for publication. These are now undergoing the various processes of sorting, typing, editing, proofing, organizing, and cross checking. Some writers may be contacted for further details, and photographs (if not already received) will also be sought. However! ... If for some reason, you have not yet offered a story or article for inclusion, and you have something to share, or you know someone else who does, please do not hesitate to contact the book committee (see below). Tofield is a great community, and deserves a great book -- don't be left out! Spread the word! We need your help!Tales of Tofield included only families who settled here before 1910. We would welcome continuations of those stories from 1960 to the present, but would also like to include histories of families who settled here by 1911 or later. Churches, organizations and businesses are also important aspects of Tofield's past, and will be included. Written or oral submissions are welcome. Photographs are important too, but please initially share only copies, not originals! *(Reprint available at Tofield Library).Ideas for Family Histories:
