Newcomers Baskets |
If you are a new comer to our community and would like to obtain a welcome basket, please come into our office to fill out a form or call the office at 780-662-7067. We can also deliver the baskets to you by a welcome basket volunteer. |

available to groups or organizations offering preventive

Volunteer Income Tax (April) |
A volunteer, with basic training, is available to assist with completing Income Tax Returns for individuals with low income.

Summer program flyer |
FCSS every year puts out a summer program flyer for families with kids. This flyer has programs around the area and Region that you can enroll your child into. Flyer is ready by June 1 every year or pick up at FCSS or distribution in many other service locations. Call FCSS is you are needing more information. |
Winter program flyer |
FCSS is working on putting together a Winter program flyer on different winter events in our area. If you have an event to advertise please call FCSS. This flyer would be ready by Nov 8th 2009 |
Christmas Hampers (December) |
FCSS helps coordinate volunteers and receives referrals for the Community Christmas Hamper Campaign in the Ryley and Tofield areas.
If you are needing a hamper this season or making a referral, please call 780-662-7067. P/U and deliveries are on Dec 21st at the Tofield Community hall. Hamper cut off date is Dec 14, 2009.

General Counselling

Professional, confidential counselling available for
individuals, couples and families seeking
solutions to problems such as marital or family conflict,
aggression, anger, loss, stress, trauma, or to
support personal development. Residents within the Tofield/Ryley/Beaver FCSS area are requested to pay $30.00 per hour. Starting Jan 2009 there will be a no show fee of $30.00 for those clients who do not call to cancel, prior to their appointment. |
Youth Outreach Program |
Battle River School Division and FCSS have partnered to provide a Youth Outreach Worker for Tofield and Ryley. The worker will provide long term support and referral services for at-risk youth in the community and may be reached at 780-920-1609 or by

Go Grrrl/Chit Chat program - Starting in Jan 2010 a group of 10 or more girls will get together every week for 10 week to work on image building, relationship building, self empowerment, etc. At the end of the program they choose to do a fun activity. This is an awesome social group. To enroll your child please call D.J at 780-920-1609.
GEARS: Goals, empowerment, appreciation, respect and self esteem; boys in the program get together to learn about themselves and others. During the program they work on a project while networking. To find out more or to enroll your boy call D.J 780-920-1609.

Family Enrichment Classes |
Active Parenting is a program developed by Michael H. Popkin Ph.D. The program is broken down into three different areas based on developmental growth and age of children which covers a number of topics in each age group.
1,2,3,4 Parents: Parenting children ages 1-4: You and Your Child; Preventing Problems; Encouraging Positive Behaviours.
Active Parenting Now: Parenting children ages 5-12: The Active Parent; Winning Cooperation; Responsibility and Discipline; Understanding and Redirecting Misbehaviour; Building Courage, Character and Self-Esteem; The Active Family.

Beaver County Dayhome Program |
FCSS has partnered with other organization to provided support for those looking for dayhomes and those looking to start a dayhome. This program provides support for those parents and dayhome providers in the community. Please call FCSS for more information 780-662-7067 |
Interagency Meetings |
Representatives of organizations that provide local human resource services meet to discuss
community needs. Contact the FCSS office for meeting dates, or to receive a regular e-newsletter updating agency activities and events.

Meals on Wheels
 |
Provision of nutritious hot meals delivered to your
home at noon, up to seven days per week. Available on an
ongoing or temporary basis (e.g. while
recovering from surgery, a broken limb, etc.)

Seniors Help |
FCSS has a list of people who are available to provide housekeeping, snow shoveling, lawn and yard care. This service is available on a fee for services basis, negotiated by the client and service provider.
Copies of the Program and Services Guide for Seniors is available at the FCSS office. Assistance filling out forms is provided if required. |
