TOFIELD BUS

Capacity: 18 passenger
14 fixed seats, 4 removable seats can be installed for larger groups

Wheelchair accessible. (Max. 4) Hydraulic lift. Available for year-round bookings (Max.: 4 consecutive days) Air conditioning and AM/FM Radio Stored in a heated bus garage in Town of Tofield Public Works Yard. Emergency cell-phone available for all renters. Can be booked by special needs, youths, adults and senior groups. Can travel anywhere within the Province of Alberta.

TOFIELD VAN

Capacity: 9 passengers (7 fixed seating, plus 2 wheelchairs)

Wheelchair accessible (Max. 2) Electric lift. Available for year-round bookings. (Max. 4 consecutive days) Air conditioning, AM/FM Radio, front and rear heaters. Emergency cell phone accessible. Can be booked by special needs, youth, adult or seniors. Can travel anywhere within the Province of Alberta.

RENTAL RATES for both Bus and Van

DRIVERS

Rental of the Tofield Bus and/or Van does not include the driver. It is the renter's responsibility to hire and pay the Driver.

APPROVED DRIVERS can drive for groups where the wheelchair lift is not required. Drivers must provide the following information to the Town of Tofield:

• proof of valid Class 4 License or better
• a copy of a Driver's Abstract obtained within the last 12 months.

DESIGNATED DRIVERS: have successfully completed training on the use of the wheelchair lift including the safe handling and transport of wheelchair passengers. Groups requiring the lift must use a designated driver.

A list of drivers, both approved and designated, is available from the Town of Tofield.

PAYMENT

Invoices for all rentals will be made at the end of each month, unless other arrangements have been made.

Funding assistance for the Shuttle Services is provided through a grant from Tofield/Ryley/Beaver FCSS Family and Community Support Services.

CHURCH SHUTTLE: Pick up and transport to your place of worship within Tofield. Please call Sharon at 780-662-2206 for this service.

TOFIELD HANDIVAN SOCIETY

In 1990, a group of citizens formed an organization to raise funds for the purchase of a Handivan to use in the Tofield area. Their efforts, and generous community support, made it possible to purchase the "Tofield Handivan".

In 1996, the Tofield Handivan was made available to groups within the community who may not require the lift, and the name was changed to "Tofield Bus". Although currently, day to day operations of the bus are the responsibility of Town of Tofield, the Handivan Society still remains active, and oversees these operations.

In November, 2003 the Tofield Handivan Society purchased a smaller, wheelchair accessible van. We hope that making the Van available for smaller groups, or individual bookings, the life of the Tofield Bus will be extended.

The Society has been successful at obtaining grants for the continued operations of the Tofield Bus and Tofield Van. In addition, generous donations from the community, memorial donations, and fundraising efforts by other groups, have supported the continued operations of the Bus and Van.
